Ford Beckman

Artist Bio
Ford Beckman gained recognition primarily for his Black Wall Paintings and Pop Art-inspired works featuring painted and collaged clowns. Many of Beckman’s creations are part of major private and public collections.
Born: 1952 in Columbus, Ohio
1980s: During this period, Beckman was a successful fashion designer in New York. By the late 1980s, he moved into a studio in Manhattan, marking the end of his fashion career and his full dedication to fine art.
1990s: After numerous exhibitions, Beckman’s career seemed to falter by the mid-1990s.
Died: 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of only 62
